Wow! It has been pretty chaotic around here since Valentine's Day. I got really behind with this but I hope the cute pictures will help make up for it. This is just a little rundown of what we've been up to. I took little MMF (Missy Monkey Feet) to a playdate with friends a couple of days after Valentine's Day where she had a blast! There were 6 kids total and everyone got along really well. I bet all of those kids slept good that night. They played very hard for almost 3 hours. The first picture is of MMF dressed up at her playdate.
About the same time we got a heck of a snow here. We've had two significant snowstorms this winter. This last one was about 8-9 inches with 3/4 inch of ice sandwiched between layers of snow. The next picture is of Daddy taking MMF for a little ride in her sled.
The following week was one of MMF's cousin's birthday so we made a day-trip to Kentucky for that. We got to visit with family, have a big dinner and birthday cake, and play nonstop. The next 2 pictures are of MMF and her cousin sharing a seat and MMF dressed up for playing, eating chocolate cake.
The very next day we had visitors at home. One of our sisters came home for a short visit with her kiddo. We had a good time visiting and playing while they were here, although they didn't spend all their time with us. Go-Go and Papaw got some quality cheek-kissing time too! The next picture is of MMF with her cousin, Baby Ano, as she pronounces his name. This is one of the cutest pictures.
Just a few days later was Daddy's birthday. I decided to throw a last minute party for him at a pizza place in town, where we turned out a crowd of 18 well-wishers to help him celebrate the end of a decade. I didn't tell him about it so it was fun to watch his surprise as each guest arrived because he had no idea who I had invited. The last picture is of him smiling and having a good time with our friends.
Go-Go and Papaw came for an overnight visit the next day and we had a great time with them. We found a great restaurant (quite by mistake) on saturday night where we had a fabulous dinner. I would have taken pictures except that if I had taken the time to do so the kiddo would have been hanging from a chandelier 2 or 3 tables over. The next day we did a little shopping at this great little hippie whole foods market and had a really good lunch before they had to go.
Aside from that we've been busy working on our basement and making plans for a fence. He has been exercising a lot, for which I'm really proud of him. He has also been watching his diet and enjoying his hobbies more. At the moment he is heavy into fantasy baseball.
I have been doing several things. I am researching how to start a program in our area that will hopefully be more effective in preventing child abuse than is currently available. I'm developing a committee at work to promote our profession and involve us in other areas of the hospital. I'm working on a quiet book for MMF with a group of 18 other girls. It means I have to use my sewing machine, which is a scarier proposition for me than my other projects mentioned above. I have to make 18 of the same pages for the cloth book to trade and then I'll try to figure out how to bind them. I'm still in my card club and loving it. I'm also craving good fiction right now so I've been reading quite a bit. I just finished "the five people you meet in heaven" and I'm currently reading "Wicked".
Wow! When I don't think we're accomplishing enough I should try to remember to write down what we're doing. No wonder we're tired all the time!
