New Beginnings

Last wednesday something amazing happened. Actually, a couple of amazing somethings happened. First, our sweet baby girl started preschool. She did pretty well- no crying when we left her, just a bit uncomfortable. I can't say as much about myself. I cried all the way home. All the baby stuff is fading away quickly. Missy Monkey Feet is struggling so hard to be grown up. I'm struggling to hold on to the last bit of her "babyhood". It's so hard watching her inch farther from that phase of life. I suppose it's because it takes her farther from me. At least for now she still needs me quite a bit and counts on me to be there for her.

I mentioned 2 amazing things happening last wednesday. Exactly 1 hour after Missy Monkey Monkey Feet walked through the classroom door Baby Ethan came into the world. He is the son of one of my closest friends. MMF and I traveled down to see him the next day. He is beautiful. MMF was quite taken with him as you can see below. Some of her comments about him included, "I'm the mom to him"; "Mom, he's sooooo cute!"; "Awwwh, he has a teeny teeny tiny butt". She held him several times. Surprisingly, she was never jealous while I held him. She was too busy trying to take him away from me so she could have another turn!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!

Well our baby girl isn't such a baby anymore. We ended our summer by bringing in little Missy Monkey Feet's birthday with a big ole barbeque. We had so many family and friends that day. It was great! We had nearly 40 guests in all. We are so blessed to have so many important people in our lives and we're thankful to every one of them. We hope everyone enjoyed themselves. We sure did!
