Here's the week in review:

Last monday was spent just hanging out. I did make some homemade bread that was wonderful. It was best hot from the oven with butter. Between the 3 of us we ate a whole loaf that evening! Tuesday I took the kiddo to her first valentine's party. We decorated an oatmeal box and took valentines with us. It was very cute. The kids traded valentines then frosted and decorated cookies. As you can see from the pictures, Missy Monkey Feet was all about testing the frosting. She made sure to decorate one for each of us, though. Tuesday night we got about 3 inches of snowfall here, so we spent wednesday just trying to stay warm. Thursday we went to class, where the focus was throwing a ball (overhand) then retrieving it and placing it on a tee for the next person in line. 10 minutes after beginning her turn (this was the average time spent per kid, per turn) she finally got it set up for the next kid in line. Needless to say, we only had 1 turn. We moved on to frisbee throwing from there. I was really glad to move on to the parachute a few minutes later. Can you imagine being in the direct line of fire of 30 or so frisbees coming at you from all directions at close range? As I looked around me I couldn't help but to think that it would be a great training exercise for our military! After class we went to a thrift shop to look for some snow pants. The kiddo met up with her match in the play area of the store. This little girl was 4 or 5 years old and had a good 15lbs. on my girl. MMF (Missy Monkey Feet) was checking out the play area when this little girl came along. She waved hello to MMF and that was it- MMF smacked her and pushed her before I could say Boo! I moved to take her out of the area with full intention of making her apologize to this girl when she shoved MMF back-hard enough to knock her over backward off a little kiddie chair. She just wailed. She was in shock. I picked her up to check her and console her. The other little girl wailed because she got in trouble. Her mother was mortified. I felt bad that my little bossy pants started it. She's still bringing it up. We're trying to teach her not to hit and have tried to use this incident as a learning tool. Keep your fingers crossed that we're successful. Friday proved to be very busy for us. My girl went with me to take the dog to the groomer's. The nice lady there was doing a great job of answering all of my girl's questions while I filled out the service card. When the groomer said that she was going to cut Jelly's toenails my girl asked, "and paint 'em too?" Never dreaming they even do that with dogs the groomer disappeared and returned seconds later with 2 bottles of nail polish and asked my girl to pick one for her doggie. Being 2, she picked the prostitute red color and a pretty conversation heart patterned scarf for valentine's day, for the dog to wear. I couldn't believe it when I picked her up. We spent the first few minutes laughing and the next couple of hours just shaking our heads. Guess who decided before the evening was over that she had to have matcing piggies? We finished off friday night by making a homemade pizza, making valentines to send out, and reading lots of stories. I worked 12 hours on saturday so the day seemed lost, but sunday we got to go to church for the second straight sunday, which rarely ever happens. MMF wore her pretty red Christmas dress in honor of valentine's day. She did pretty well today for services all the way around. She only hit one little boy (that I saw) as we were leaving the building. We spent the ride home talking about how to greet people with words instead of hands. Maybe we'll get through to her soon. In the meantime, if you come across our girl, Heads Up!
