Recently MMF and I did something new. Based on something I read in a magazine, I introduced the idea of a fairy house to her. She just glowed with enthusiasm. We picked a nice, sunny day and headed off to one of our local parks. We took one of the nature trails to gather material to build our fairy house. Of course we had to make an afternoon of it, so we took lunch with us and played at the park for a while first. When we got to business though, we found ourselves on a great adventure. The trail was beautiful. It was just far enough into the woods that the world started to fade away. We found all kinds of material for a great fairy house, including some tree bark, walnuts, leaves, acorns, sticks and a few rocks (of course). We finally headed home with our treasures. We built our fairy house in the backyard under our pine tree. Within a couple of days we could tell we had some fairies move in because they moved things around in the house. We've had so much fun keeping an eye on those mischievous little pixies, and adding to the comfort of their home. MMF is always finding things for it. Wonder how long our little house will last?
The rest of the pictures are kind of random. We recently introduced MMF to one of our favorite restaurants, Pei Wei. She had chicken fried rice and used her chopsticks a lot. It was a fun experience for us all. She also got to do her favorite thing with Papaw a couple of weeks ago, go to one of the area's last fairs. Poor Papaw had a cast on his leg at the time, but he still had fun. MMF dragged me on all the rides I could stand. Before it was over I was actually thankful. It was the first time I can remember getting kind of sick from the rides. She loved it. Another thing she asked to do recently was to visit a pet store, since she wants to be a "ballerina/reglar doctor/vetinarian". We stopped in one day after lunch and played with a couple of puppies. One was a mini daschund and the other was an English bulldog. She asked me if the bulldog spoke English since he was from England. I told her "yes, of course." One of the last things lately was an outing at church that I took her to. She decorated a cookie for her, Daddy and I. As you can see it's hard to tell there is a cookie at the bottom of all the toppings. Life with MMF sure is exciting.
